Chief Collaborative Officer

Heather Chapple is a community builder who is passionate about bringing people, tools, and technology together to build adaptive ecosystems. 

She holds a Master’s in Social Policy and Development from the London School of Economics and is trained in design thinking, data analysis and public engagement. Her career has spanned international humanitarian response coordination with the United Nations, leading a civic innovation lab to build smart city prototypes, and partnering with industry-leading clients to develop agile data solutions. 

Being active is a cornerstone of Heather’s life and she is a dedicated road cyclist, backcountry skier and weightlifter. Her routine also includes chasing her two small children and walking through nature with her partner, Graham.

Cynthia WatsonCynthia has “reverse engineered” her life’s dedication to wellness by starting with palliative care and seniors, to working with adults and young developing athletes to now focusing on youth, children and future generations.Currently, Cynthia is Chief Evolution Officer of Vivo for Healthier Generations, a charitable enterprise on a mission to raise healthier generations in Calgary and beyond. She loves to tinker, test and prototype with evidence, innovation and collaboration to co-create local solutions to national challenges like physical inactivity and sedentary behaviour. She has a passion for being an explorer and leader with heart. She is happiest surfing ambiguity in a lifelong quest to embolden others to make a bigger difference in the world.In her parallel universe, she is a yoga teacher, entrepreneur, mentor for developing leaders and business coach for small business owners and nonprofit organizations. She is a graduate of the Royal Roads University Master of Arts in Leadership.

Chris DaweAn industry leader for more than 25 years, Chris’ experience is rooted in leadership and consulting roles within higher education and community with proactive, upstream well-being impacts (recreation, active living, wellness, health promotion, sport, and community-building). He has consulted and worked in Canada and the U.S. including Mount Royal University, Northern Illinois University, and the Active Alberta Coalition. Chris has also served in a number of volunteer industry leadership roles including higher education professional associations and Calgary’s ActiveCITY Collective.Chris’ strengths include researching and synthesizing ideas into coherent strategy and action. He is a convenor, facilitating and engaging other leaders to harness the collective power of collaboration, and to envision and create a future of well-being for healthier people and healthier communities. Chris is a champion for the value of recreation, sport and active living as foundational to individual wellness and community well-being.

Chris Dawe
